As you may have seen from Kathy's blog, she went into labor on Wednesday afternoon and had Peter early, early early Thursday morning!!
Congrats to the Campbells!!
It was a great labor, and she did great. I got to spend a good deal of time with Kathy and David during the labor, and though I didn't stay in the room for the actual delivery, I got to see all the updates first-hand...though I'll let Kathy post whatever details she feels like posting later. Suffice it to say, Mom, Dad and baby did great and we couldn't be more excited that baby Peter is here!!
I got a chance to hold Peter a little after he was born, and then again the next day when I visited Kathy in the hospital. It was so neat...looking at that little baby...seeing him take in the world and trying to process all this new information...it really got me thinking that we will be there in that same position of holding a newborn very, very soon!!
A funny little story about baby Michael throughout it all....I was holding Peter, and being 9 months pregnant, it's hard to hold anything in my arms without having it touch my tummy. So of course, Peter was resting as much on my stomach as he was in my arms. All of a sudden..."pow! pow! pow!" His cousin Michael gave him a few swift kicks in utero. I guess he knows that this is the only time he can kick his cousin and not get yelled at or put in time out for it. I guess he thought "Hey...it's crowded as it is in here without you compressing my space! Get off!!"
Aw...from the very earliest moments of their interaction, Michael and Peter no doubt will be little rascals to each other.
On Thursday, I got to visit my other two adorable nephews as I went over to the Campbells to babysit while my mom and David saw Kathy.
Thomas and Jack were as cute as always, and we had a great time building a tent, blowing bubbles and having lunch. Much of the time spent over there was during naptime, so Wheetah got a chance to catch up on much needed sleep!
The first thing they told me was "Peter's here!" or "Mommy's in the hop-it-toe (Thomas' version of "hospital") with Peelo" (Thomas' version of Peter). They were excited at the idea of Peter, but as I heard today, a little anxious to see Mommy again, since she had to spend a couple days in the hop-it-toe.
The nurses at the hospital kept asking me about my due date (and one even thought I was a patient needing to be helped as I was waiting in the waiting room!) and I responded, "Well, I'll be here in a couple of weeks!" One way or the other, in 6 weeks or less (and 6 weeks is the "overdue" estimate) Michael and I will be there, welcoming our baby boy as well.
Congrats to Kathy, David, Jack and Thomas on welcoming baby Peter!!

That's so exciting that "Pee-lo" is finally here! I can't believe little Michael is going to be here so soon!!!
What an exciting time!
So exciting! I saw little Pee-lo (that is so cute, btw) on Kathy's blog and he is such a cutie! I can't believe that my nephew is almost here! :) I can't wait!
I can't wait until Baby Michael is here! I'm glad you are doing well and it was really neat to hear and see the baby pics of little "Pee-lo". Oh and I'm with Jack, there is plenty of space at our house too for Baby Michael to hang out if needed. Hahahaha! I love you guys.
