37 Weeks

Today, I am 37 weeks pregnant...definitely in the "safe zone" for delivery!

I have been having frequent contractions, but none of them hard enough or long-lasting enough to be actual labor. Just my body warming up, I suppose. Though, a few days ago, after having regular contractions for a few hours, I began to wonder..."Is this it?!" And was mixed with emotions between totally excited and a little scared.

For so many weeks, contractions have been a bad thing. Something I had to take medicine in order to prevent....now...contractions are exactly what we are waiting for. They are the "Go!" signal...they are the way to get the baby out. So for the first time, when my normal habit has been to do whatever I need to do to stop contractions, now I find myself in the spot to try to keep them going...go for a walk, relax, etc. Such a turn of the table!

I have my 37 week appointment today. I know Dr. Delgado is not going to be happy with my weight gain. I am sure I've gained 5 pounds since the last appointment alone...and I still have 3 more weeks. Oh well. A girl's gotta eat. Especially a pregnant one. Not to mention, the swelling in my feet indicates I am retaining a lot of water..so...you know, I can hardly be blamed for water weight, right?

I will report any more news if I have some, but in the meantime, I'm trying to both take things a little easier, while simultaneously get stuff done. Michael and I packed our suitcase for the hospital, and I've got a few more loose ends at work to tie up. Other than that and getting our car seat installed, I'm pretty much good to go...just waiting for baby!

We are waiting too! :-) Tell Baby Michael to join us out here already. His favorite aunt, Tracee, can't wait.

I'm keeping you guys in my prayers as the wait continues. ♥ I know you're going to do great when Baby Michael is ready to come. Love ya.

I agree with what Kathy said last night. Eat whatever you want, just not lots of it. I am sure the weight will come off quickly.

I am very excited for you and the two Michaels. I know your family will be most delightful and abundantly blessed.
Love,

Daaad?
