That's what Michael said when the sonogram technician announced "It's a boy!" It was a great sonogram, that confirmed that we have a healthy little boy! I got a glimpse of the screen and was pretty sure I saw what she saw, and so when immediately after that she asked "Do want to know what it is?" I knew it was a boy. She asked us "Do you have a preference?" which Michael and I thought was a weird question, because it's not like we had a choice! What if we had said we preferred a girl? What a weird question to ask! Because I was pretty sure I saw what she saw, in hindsight it would have been funny if I had said, "Oh, my biggest dream in the whole world is to have a girl! I couldn't imagine anything else other than a girl!" Just to see what would have happened. But I didn't say it because I wasn't totally sure and to be honest, I didn't think of it until later. I just thought it was a little weird that she would have asked our "preference" at that point in time. We didn't have a preference, but we are super happy with our little boy!!
The sonogram technician spent a lot of time silently looking at the baby, taking measurements and getting various shots. She said that after she took some measurements, she would start to narrate a little of what we saw, but she never really did that. We just looked and watched and tried to figure out some of the parts, but much of it was really close up pictures of the heart, the kidneys, the brain, etc. So, we didn't get to see him playing around much or moving. Every once in a while, he would move, and I would feel him and it was neat to see it on the screen and feel it too. But because so much of it was just silent, it was a pretty uneventful little show.
Then, the doctor came in and did a quick looking around. She was trying to see the face to check the pallet of his mouth, but he was using the placenta as a pillow and they couldn't see through and get a clear shot. Sleepy baby...just like his mommy!
Michael and I are so grateful for your prayers that our little boy is healthy and lively. We will keep you posted on any updates we have!
Love,
Michael and Kim.
