Christmas in July

Because, really, is getting the vacuum cleaner out for a few styrofoam crumbs THAT much more work than for a few thousand? And when the payoff is a whole afternoon of entertainment?

At Least They Like Each Other

I give each boy about 15 minutes on the computer each day to "do school." There is a program that has been really effective for phonics and counting and they both like to spend time on it.

So I set up the computer for Matthew and Michael said, "I want to hold hands while you do school."

And they've been this way the whole time:

Stickers

I like how Matthew isn't even doing this to try to be silly. For him, this is just where they go.

And When She Wakes She Dances

Some two year olds...

....can't quite dress themselves yet...

P.S. I feel the need to explain those drawers, which actually are tidy, or rather, they were tidy before Matthew grabbed a shirt from them, ruffling them up and then closing it.  I'm particularly keen to explain this, because on average, I've been spending about 30 minutes a day making sure their room is kept orderly. I don't know why I'm becoming obsessive about their room, but despite my many, MANY failings as a housekeeper, I am trying my best to help the kids learn to appreciate a tidy environment. So to have this moment captured where their drawers look like they are spewing clothes is particularly irksome and in fact, not representative of their typical reality.  End self-conscious tangent.

From the Other Room...

I'm in the living room hanging out with Molly while the boys are playing in their room. I hear Michael cry out:
"Please don't do that, Matthew. You're my best friend and I love you.  You're my brother. Don't you love me? Please, PLEASE don't do that. If you loved me, why would you do that?"

Matthew replies, "I'm sorry, Mah-doh. I won't."
